Unsure if this is the right thread, but, I'm an asset missing a dependency in one of your DP Packs.

 

PK-Destinazione miglia kuid:69593:100639 is missing the mesh asset kuid:69593:49007, I cannot find this in any of the other packs, can you please advise where it can be located, please.

Hello Steve, the MK is the mesh-library for a distance measurement marker. It has never been released and it has remained in the route by accident. I'm trying to contact the co-author to see if I can upload it on the DLS.

Anyway, its absence should have no impact on the route, as it is a Surveyor-only object, not visible in Driver.

Hello, it's me again, :su:

 

Just a quick question, I am at Roseville, on the fuel loading area, and there are 2 white pipes at each end of the facility blocking the tracks, is there a reason for this, please? I'll pop a screenshot up to show you what I mean.

I am missing 621 assets by authors 146087- 37058- 38408  .all track is missing to. I installed all of the packs.  probably did something wrong but I don`t know what.

We have not yet prepared a list of the contents included in every pack; it shall be ready in a few days.
However, since kuid 38408 is threeheadedmonkey, author of many assets used only in this route, I respectfully suggest you to check if you actually installed everything.

Oh, well, thanks for that info. Jango, I've had a look in my CM, but, this built-in asset isn't showing any errors, or, warnings, at all, very strange, it must be another N3V gremlin in the works, I'll get it fixed at my end.....

 

And I'd love to be able to take a vacation to Roseville, and get some proper photographs for you, but, it isn't possible anymore, so, we'll have to be content with what we can get from Google Street View instead. :su:

Can you please make a list of all the required asset downloads one would need to install this route, starting from scratch?

 

I'm already behind the 8-ball trying to see if this works on a steam install, so I want to be very sure I have ALL assets I am supposed to before trying to troubleshoot whatever issues I may have with the steam version of the game. (Once I install it)

 

So having the complete list of assets we need to download (and where from) will help those of us who may either have not downloaded files from this site or just bought the game itself.

EDIT:  I see above an asset list is being prepared.Guess i'll just wait for that as I am having a really hard time just trying to find ONE THING.

 

I tried only to get the animated people from that Russian site and they have 4 pages worth of people and the kuid's don't match what you say they should be (not to mention the translator is having problems with that site)and that other site that you can search by kuid simply refers to various sites that supposedly have that file you really cant actually find anything (at least not me) Way, WAY too confusing.  :sad:

 

 

EDIT 2:

 

Download has finished and I see no instructions on HOW to install this. All I see are a bunch of .cdp files. Where do they go? How do I get them into the game? You cannot assume we all know how to get assets into the game. I assume I need to use content manager, but I have no clue how to use it.   I mean no disrespect, believe me. But we are not all "pro's" at editing this game. We just want to play it.

 

EDIT 3: So I found a youtube video on how to add cdp files. That's done. Game loads but tons of missing assets. (and I have that's exact same white pipe on the ground in Roseville yard as mentioned above)  Still working on it.....

I found 3 floating signals in the Reno/Sparks yard. Further I noticed a few extreme trackgradiënt changement's in the middle of the route. But overall it's massive and very realistic and I get still very high fps!

Hello,
 

Download has finished and I see no instructions on HOW to install this. All I see are a bunch of .cdp files. Where do they go? How do I get them into the game? You cannot assume we all know how to get assets into the game. I assume I need to use content manager, but I have no clue how to use it.   I mean no disrespect, believe me. But we are not all "pro's" at editing this game. We just want to play it.


Since CDP files are the basic format for third party content (apart from a few older assets provided with auto-installers, such as Cowboy's UP9000s), we assumed there was no need to explain how to import them in the game. The procedure is very simple, anyway:

  1. Launch Content Manager;
  2. Select "File|Import CDP file";
  3. Select the CDP files you want to import;
  4. Wait until the import process is complete;
  5. Select "View in main list" to see all the imported assets in the CM main list;
  6. Select any assets in "Open for Edit" status;
  7. Commit any assets in "Open for Edit" status(CTRL+M or right-click + "Commit")

I have made 2 screenshots of the 2 places where I found an extreme changement in gradiënts. I hope it helps, I don't really know if this in real looks like this.

Today I took a ride on the final piece of the route and have seen everything. It's one of the best route for a simulator I have ever driven.

 

I have just 2 final things, from now an you will not hear me again!

Otherwise, how can we find and eradicate bugs? So far, customers like you reported about two thirds of the dozen bugs that have gone unnoticed before the release of the route.

Here's one for you; Set up a passenger train to run from Roseville to Reno, Consist is two amtrck p42's and a mixed breed of super liner cars. My first adventure began at Colfax when the rear third of the trai derailed. Managed to fix that one by resetting the track- bad joint. My latest little problem is at Gold Run, The train will go to the outside passing track which is fine with me. until the last part of the train goes thru the switch and the switch changes tracks under the train derailing the train. I checked allignment of the track and relaid the turnout to no avail. Could I have a signal switching it automaticaly or maybe fire the dispatcher. I have not as yet tried running a train thru this manually it has all been thru AI.

Hello George,

 

the issue with derailments caused by switches that activate at their own will has already been reported and discussed on the Auran forum (I also experienced it at Newcastle). I think it is Trainz-related rather than Donner-related, but I'm still investigating about it and so far I have not yet reached any definitive answer explaining why this happens.

 

About the Colfax derailment: can you provide an image of the bad joint where the train derailed?

 

At Gold Run, probably the train took the outside passing track because it is  the shortest route between the two spline nodes at the ends of the siding. To force the AI to stay on the main, you have to place a trackmark on the main (e.g. "Gold Run Main") and to give the train a "Navigate through <Gold Run Main>").
